Direct Hua Hin–U-Tapao Flights Expand Coastal Connectivity

Direct air service between Hua Hin and U-Tapao Rayong-Pattaya International Airport will create a faster link between two major Thai coastal regions. The route is operated by EZY Airlines and will begin regular passenger flights on October 23, 2026, following a successful inaugural flight on September 30. The service will run on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, making it convenient for weekend getaways, business travel and regional trips between Hua Hin and the Eastern Seaboard.

The biggest benefit is a shorter travel time, with Hua Hin to U-Tapao typically taking about 40 minutes. The inaugural flight departed Hua Hin at 8:49 a.m. and arrived at U-Tapao at 9:29 a.m. The route will initially use a Cessna Caravan C208B configured for about 10 passengers. Promotional one-way fares are expected to start from THB 2,900, with tickets going on sale from October 10.

Improved domestic air connectivity supports Hua Hin’s ongoing development as a popular coastal destination. The route provides easier access for visitors and residents traveling from Pattaya, Rayong and the Eastern Seaboard, and its Friday-to-Monday schedule suits weekend travel well. The new connection also aligns with broader efforts to increase activity at Hua Hin Airport and U-Tapao International Airport and to create more direct links between regional destinations.

Looking ahead, EZY Airlines has indicated plans to add direct services linking Hua Hin with other well-known beach towns not typically connected by larger carriers, potentially including Phuket, Surat Thani and Krabi, as part of a regional network. While a single new route won’t by itself transform the market, better accessibility complements Hua Hin’s strengths and improves the appeal of owning property in the area for residents and investors alike. The expansion of direct flights would further bolster Hua Hin’s role as both a tourism hub and a long-term residential destination.
